Kids of CrossFit Choice getting in on the action

On Oct. 27, CrossFit Choice and CrossFit PSKC joined forces to complete a 24-hour charity event that spanned continents. CrossFit Choice, located in the U.K. and owned by two members of the Royal Navy, and CrossFit PSKC, located in Ohio and owned by U.S. Army veteran Dale King, found a common goal in supporting programs that help veterans struggling with mental-health issues and provide outreach programs and assistance during their transitions to civilian life.

“I’m so proud of the effort of our community,” said Karl Thorpe, CrossFit Choice co-owner and member of the Royal Navy. “Together, we’ve shown what can be achieved when we come together for a meaningful cause.”

The two gyms rallied their communities to complete 5,158,440 meters of running, rowing, skiing, and cycling starting in the early hours of the morning and finishing at midnight. Their tireless efforts supported All Call Signs (U.K.) and 50 For The Fallen (U.S.), both of which are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of veterans and their families. They raised $2,358 in total.

The efforts of these affiliate owners and members who did not know one another before this connection is a testament to the power of community and shared purpose.

“This experience has been incredible,” said Paul Ormston, co-owner of CrossFit Choice and member of the Royal Navy. “It’s the best initial response I’ve ever had from a stranger that I now refer to as a brother.”
