CROSSFIT FOUNDATION

OUR MISSION

The CrossFit Foundation serves as the charitable arm of CrossFit, LLC. We support the work of CrossFit affiliates and charitable organizations that use CrossFit to serve the needs of their diverse communities.

Our work includes support for kids programs in K-12 school districts and underserved communities around the world, veterans organizations, cancer survivors, communities in recovery from substance abuse and addiction, and many others. We also participate in education, advocacy, and development efforts in specific areas related to combating chronic disease.

  • The CrossFit Foundation is a 501(c)3 public charity. The CrossFit Foundation was established by Greg Glassman and CrossFit, LLC to improve health and fitness through education, research, philanthropy, and advocacy.

  • The CrossFit Foundation and CrossFit, LLC operate under a management agreement whereby CrossFit, LLC provides services and staff to the CrossFit Foundation. The CrossFit Foundation and CrossFit, LLC are separate and independent corporate entities. The CrossFit Foundation has an independent Board of Directors.

  • Yes! CrossFit affiliates can support the CrossFit Foundation and its various initiatives individually or collectively. Contributions may be made online or directly to the foundation. For assistance, please contact us at foundation@crossfit.com.

  • At this time, only organizations recognized by the IRS as 501(c)3 public charities or organizations with fiscal sponsorship from a qualified 501(c)3 organization may apply for a CrossFit Foundation grant. Affiliates with associated public charities may also apply. Learn how to apply in the Community Health Fund section. For additional inquiries, please contact us at foundation@crossfit.com.

  • Unrestricted (that is, general) gifts to the CrossFit Foundation are directed toward the CrossFit for Kids Funds or the Community Health Fund at the board’s discretion. Donors may choose to restrict their gift to either program.

  • As an IRS recognized public charity, all contributions to the CrossFit Foundation qualify for tax-advantaged status depending upon the individual donor’s tax situation. Please contact your tax advisor.

  • Yes. Please contact us at foundation@crossfit.com to discuss making a planned, securities or other non-cash gift, or contact your estate or financial planner.

  • At this time, the CrossFit Foundation is not funding research proposals. Past work in this area included support for the Beyond Calories academic conference and a variety of specific research grants.
